Last checkride today!!!! All finished. I want to thank the great instructors in Dallas...great group of guys. I had a great experience and met some great people and hope to carry those friendships well past ATP. I also have to say thanks to Jetcareers. I have been using this website for years....and in January started reading posts and getting excited about an aviation career, which prompted me to get started.

Now that the training is over the hard part starts...Hoping to get hired with ATP and move one more step closer to an airline career.

CONGRATS!!!!

Mark,
Congratulations! You worked your butt off in the 90-day program and I have no doubt you will get picked up by ATP. They haven't seen the last of BIG MOMMA! Try and stay current while you are searching for a job. Its important to Jim. Drop me a line or give me a call when you get something brewing! Talk to you soon.....and great job!

P.S. - I can hear the song playing now........"I'm sorry Ms. Jackson (ooooohhh), I am for REAL"!

grats, hopefully you'll be down here in florida soon (and hopefully i'll be out of here soon, im next in line to get out of the office)

Congrats to you! I can only imagine how excited you must be.

Any indication of the prospect of being hired? With their site saying they're considering hiring non-CPP instructors, it would seem being a CPP student would make you a shoe-in, no?

Casey, how long have you been riding the desk at JAX?

I'm considering the ATP thing, and just curious how difficult it is to land a teaching spot after CPP in recent months?

I am keeping a postive attitude about being hired by ATP. They run a tight ship and will hire when they have a need. If they have enough people in the office to fill expected vacancies the hiring may slow down, but it I would not expect it to stop. Being in the career pilot program helps..you get a feel for the culture and can tell if it is a fit for you....and at the sametime ATP determines if you fit their needs. As a recent graduate I recommend the program. As far as employment goes I have my resume out to one other flight school and plan on hitting a few more this week. Good luck Heath.

You holding out for a specific place, or willing to go anywhere?

I know it depends on how quickly instructors leave, but is there an average wait to expect?

Mark-

Glad you see you got finished! I just got done spending the week on the beach.. Someone in an ATP Seminole did a low-flyby down the beach in Gulf Shores while I was there.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway - What's next for you?

Congrats..

Biscuit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Congratulations Mark. I knew when you showed me that crazy ass drawing of the fuel system on like your second day in the program that you would have no trouble getting through. Are you going back to San Antonio or staying in the DFW area?

Pete and Biscuit

I have talked with Jim...just waiting to hear the good news...I would like to be back in Texas...but will go anywhere to start. Have been hitting some the schools here in Houston. I have a second interview on Saturday....they needed a MEI....and they fly the Seminole....need to have a plan B if ATP does not come through.

Pete you think you will be back in Dallas soon? I have sold the house in SA and now live in H town....more flying jobs here verses SA.

Jeff...how is it tomp'in the King Air....still thinking about A-10's???

Mark- I don't think the A-10's are going to work.. Sounds like you need to be a Black Female with a 4.0 in an engineering background to have a shot at the reserves.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I think I am going to attempt to get a slot with the local ANG.. There are 2 units, 1 with 16's and the other with 135's.. So who knows..

I haven't started tumping the King Air yet, I am going down there next week to look for housing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You're not trying hard enough. A buddy of mine, RJ FO at ACA, got an A-10 slot in the MD ANG not too long ago, and my CFI for my private got an F-16 slot in the NY ANG. Another dude I know got an AFRES C-17 slot out here in CA. All white boys.

The differentiating difference between all those is that they are ANG, this A-10 unit is AF Reserve. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I am going to try and get into an ANG unit..
