Figured out what I'm doing when I grow up...

Getting ready to retire from the Navy within the next few months and have been trying to figure out how to carry over my 20 years of Naval aviation experience into the outside world.

I joined JC with the original intention of pursuing all of my pilot certs and trying to eek out a living as a commercial pilot. However, through some excellent TACAMO networking, a few months ago I applied for a position as a Systems Operator with Boeing out of Seattle.

Today, I received my offer for employment!

So, in the next couple months, I will be headed up to join the Test and Evaluation group doing check flights on newly built aircraft! There is hope for Flight Engineers out there!

Definitely. I'm hoping to come up for a week in August to do some house hunting. Still trying to figure the best place to look, within budget limits.

As soon as the dates are firm, I'll post a M&G and hopefully we can get together for a couple beers.

Appreciate all the likes, guys. Sorry took awhile to hop back on here. Have spent the last 10 days helping out at the Civil Air Patrol Flight Academy. Working 17-18 hour days with about 5 hours sleep has left very little time for internet.

Sounds like I'll be based out of King County. But, I'll start flying on 737's out of Renton then, within the year, upgrade to 777 out of Renton. After that, upgrade to the other airframes over time, but bounce back and forth as production dictates.
