Fight in the cockpit....

All I really want to know is if there were any kangaroos injured in the making of this news story?

If not, I'm going to be sorely disappointed.

Maybe the tempurature was higher than the charts went...

Probably so. Buncha button pushing monkeys couldn't fly their way out of a paper bag. They should have gone. I know, because I fly a 172, and you fly everything the same way!

I need some help here.

The Captain was arguing with the 2nd (not even 1st) Officer and clearly the 2nd officer wouldn't back down.

A long haul 747 Captain is a pretty senior guy not lacking experience. A 2nd office position isn't even a position that's on track to be 1st Officer.

What's wrong with this picture?

You'd think they could put bickering aside to just get the F out of Dallas. Has to be one of their worst overnights....

Nothing...everyone's got a vote.

What is wrong with the picture is that it is a CREW, not totalitarian captain with a couple of followers.

If there is disagreement then you must have resolution. If resolution can not be achieved then you must at least have agreement. If you can't get to that point then you don't go. It is not a matter of "We are going because I said so." That just doesn't fly (so to speak) in the 121 world, or at least it doesn't with me (I know of at least one capt that can attest to what I said!).

Captains greatest "weapon" is the parking break. First officer's is their feet.

My greatest weapon is my FIST!!!!!! :D

...And we'll see ya back around the Ponderosa, Captain. You and your "captains authority" go ahead and fly the jet, just you two. I'll be at the bar when the chief pilot calls and asks why you're flying single pilot. Ciao ciao ciao.
