[/ QUOTE ]getting into and out of florida on companion passes will not do via delta.. even as a spouse (with higher priority), i can't get into or out of florida on them because the loads are always overbooked (Delta's the main air carrier for Florida). I can get everywhere else most of the time...but having the option for a companion pass is a really great thing if you can get one altho i think it'd be a few years yet before your able to get one via DCA cuz don't you have to be an instructor (ie: working for the company) in order to get those?

Hmmmm where to start...

1.) Been with your gf since 17 now you want to marry her. Now it's not that only mormons can have LTR at a younger tender age. It just seems that all of the mormons that I know have been with thre girl now there wife since highschool or damn even sometimes grade school.

2.) Your 21 yrs. old. If you are mormon you went on your "mission" at 17-18 got back at age 19-20 the time adds up nicely. After one gets back from his "mission" he is supposed to get married and start a family and tad da your engaged. (slaps face like in Home Alone) -

3.) You live in Idaho. Mormons dominate in those plains states. NE,ID,MT,WY,ND,SD etc.

Anyways..I could be wrong but my guess it that you are affliated with LDS. Care to confirm or deny? If so there are LDS pilots with major air carriers that post here often. You might maybe want to correspond with them in PM.

We're both raised in mormon families, but neither of us actively attend church. I didn't go on a mission either.

Kinda funny that you decided to pick that out though.

I don't think ND has mormons. I have called this great waste of space home for 23 years and have yet to meet a mormom that lived here.

Had to reply when I read this one! First of all FSI is not the school that promises a guaranteed interview, that is DCA. FSI doesn't have to promise "guart intvs" the instructors here are constantly being hired by the regionals all the time. My roomate had to change instructors because his was just hired by Express Jet, like about 25 of our other instructors in the past 2 months.
Your friend that had a "less than stellar exp" and did not get hired sounds like she interviewed for the direct track program. Are you refering to Jen?.. ASA airlines conducts those interviews and chooses up to 6/ month as a max. 2 out of 18 sounds pretty good to me when talking about getting hired at an airline! And if it was Jen all she completed here was a 2 week instrument recurrent training, and as far as I could tell, she had a great experience here! Just wanted to clear up the misconceptions about FS, and all those that do complete the CFI program here, do have the option to interview for an instructing job here with full benefits.

Blizzue, its true you can go anywhere to get your ratings, like everyone on here has been telling you, but all that matters is where you feel like you fit in the best. I was in your shoes a year ago, I had my ppl and was looking all over for a school to finish up at and i felt the same about FSI. I am almost done with the program here, let me tell you i could not have made a better decision, the training here is amazing, its very structured, and works out very well. The aerobatic training teaches you to recover from a spin from actually being in one, instead of just reading about it in a book, which was my favorite part of the training so far...

Same thing happened to me, I bought 100 hours of multi with the ring, if you get what I mean. You need someone to be with you all the way. My first instructor has watched everone below him at my school get a job and leave. You need to be flexiable for that first few years.

I'm glad I am reading this post years before this applies to me. Thats a great benefit of being a teen at JC. I learned from all of your mistakes and experiences.

Dang dude, where were you flying out of? I just finished off a kid your age for his IFR, did his private, too. I charge $60/hr for a nice IFR/GPS equipped 152, $95 dual. Thing is, I'm picky about who I let fly the plane...so I gotta like you. AND...you gotta want to fly and fit in a 152...which not everyone does.

Since your local, I just want to make sure you know about UND-Spokane. I got a buddy who CFI's there and, though it's not cheap, they have a really nice web site. Seriously...I think their training is pretty good. If you're not familiar with their program, I could hook you up with his e-mail.

There is also Felts Field Aviation, they have good rates but I'm not impressed with their operation overall. My last student came to me after being abused by them.

Then there is me.....little 152, freelancing, part 61 believing, eccentric fellow that I am. But if you wind up staying in the area, we might be able to work something out....if you're interested....
