FFT4345 DEN 5/8

They apparently hit someone on the runway, did a high speed abort and blew the slides due to an engine fire.

holy crap, "human on the runway" is an abort criteria I've never thought to brief.

Geeze that’s crazy. I’ve taken off on 17L many times. It’s way the hell out there, and very dark. Definitely an easy place to sneak onto if one was determined.

That poor crew.

Poor everyone. Passengers evacuated onto the runway.

Remember when the same thing happened at PHX, Alaska 727 smacked into a guy at night that they couldn’t see who wandered onto the runway, successful abort with no damage.

The day Honolulu had the false NK missle launch alert, a homeless guy broke through security undetected, and snuck into the wheelwell of an (I think) AA 777. When they rotated, he fell out and the next plane taking off ran his body over.

Happened to a SWA crew in Austin during the pandemic except it was landing. They saw him go by as they lowered the nose, right into #1.

Why are all the pax milling around the engine of the jet? Just rubbernecking?

Orange vest person not corralling them up to a containment area in the infield grass or anything?
I was wondering the same thing. That had to have been immediately after the slide deployment and before Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting arrived because there’s no way command is going to just let people mill around the motor like that

Let me emphasize my disdain for passenger gawkers.

Captain: "We're evacuating because a person went through the engine and the engine is on FIRE (giving a fire warning)

Passengers: "Let's get a selfie with a (possibly) burning engine with Human Salsa inside!!"

(not to mention the bio-hazard nightmare of blood born pathogens and likely enough meth (fentanol) to kill millions of LEO's)
