FF's Instructional Landing Video Part Dos

You need to make a Youtube video landing here!

(Twin Oaks, 2225 X 30 ,San Antonio)

I think I'm flying in Friday to SSF to visit. Are you going to be around? I may have to stop in to T94.

Nah... He's practicing his formation landing technique... either side of center. ;)

I like that reason. Actually, I didn't like all of the overgrown grass on the right side of the runway so I did my best to avoid it. :)

Before you fly way over there. Fly here first. It's just outside of the DFW class B.

I used to practice simulated engine outs into here. There is a AME and a resturant within walking distance from the airport. It's private, but they used to not mind us coming into here. I trained a student in an aztec who's dad had it hangared here. I made them move it to FTW.

Ask SAT tower if you wish, Be aware, that Twin Oaks is VERY short and surounded by houses.

I never worked up the nerve the whole time I flew out of SAT.

Nope, sorry. I'm on the road with the civilian gig through Dec. 4th. Have fun though!

Actually, if he goes to Laughlin (not sure about the other UPT bases), off-centered landings are the norm whether in formation or not. "Hot side" vs. "Cold side" allows two airplanes on the runway at once with 3000 ft separation. With 12 T-6s in the pattern at once each going 200 KIAS, you gotta squeeze as much concrete out of the place as you can! :D
