Ferry Pilots

Haha, ask him about the care packages if send to BSO or my 'Careless Whisper' nights.

This is a small industry my friend. It doesn't have a lot of room for sneaky, argumentative bottom feeders like yourself. You want to argue all the time with people and act like you are "gods gift to aviation"? Go ahead but remember like I told you, don't be surprised if your sitting across from the head of HR somewhere and something comes out sounding funny, causing them to dig into your past. Funnier things have happened in my short 10 years in this industry.

@Turbine - I've seen you post these treads occasionally, and have had to opportunity to do one ferry flight for the flight school I instruct at, and had a blast doing it. I have a few hours turbine, but am not in any way qualified to ferry turbines. However in 1150 single piston, and 130 multi piston, and would love to do some ferry flights provided I have time outside instructing, could I be of any use to you?

Thanks for your time!

Well ignore the pay and all that for a moment. Just think about them being around for so long and what that says....

It says what I've said a long time ago. There are TONS of pilots that use their benefits for "commercial" reasons. It is common place apparently.

I wonder if @ATN_Pilot has seen people like you lose benefits. I wouldn't be surprised if he knew a few stories.

Thanks for your message! I could always use more pilots, however I will say the amount of piston aircraft I ferry is relatively few compared to the turbine side. Lack of type rating needs for light pistons sets the stage for serious undercutting. In addition, lack of a good maintenance program brings mechanical issues all to often..

Don't worry guys...I'm done responding to morons. Ill just scope the site out and take the low paying jobs that you are all too good for and build flight time. Ill also fly where I want when I want. It's clear that you are all too bored and just want to reply to me and give a low time pilot a hard time.

That's fine....ill be a high time pilot someday. And I'll help anyone I can!

We've all be there. Low time/ no time trying to get time. In the ferry pilot world at 300 hours your only insurable in the generic flight school airplanes: C152-C172-PA28-PA28R, or the what ever type of aircraft you have a significant amount of time in. Which means there are plenty of pilots qualified to fly those aircraft. Whereas something like an Extra 300 (Which was recently mentioned by the OP) or say a MU-2 the list of qualified and insurable pilots shrinks. Therefore the C172 flights pay considerably less then the MU-2. That's just economics and people will take advantage of that. You need time, so you'll ferry the C172 with some concessions in an effort to make your offer more lucrative. Such as less pay or get my own transportation to and from the delivery. <---- There is the problem. THIS IS A PROFESSION AND YOU SHOULD GET COMPENSATED AS A PROFESSIONAL! Please listen to the advice here and don't jeopardize the privileges of your current employer. Rules are rules, whether it is non-rev or being drunk at work. I'm sure both are prohibited, why would you choose to break one rule and not the other?

For the record, I just ferried a Skyhawk earlier this month, didn't do it for free either. I was paid pretty well for it, and the standard transportation costs to and from the destinations were included. Normally I don't get involved in C172s because frankly someone else could have been doing that flight that needs the time, but cash is cash and the broker didn't even lift an eyebrow at my rates. If you associate with the right people, you will be treated well and respected.

Good luck in your flying endeavors.

Thank you, I was hoping this thread would return to the original subject!

Seemed to me the issue was moral, by jumpseating one would bump someone from getting home, or to work, which could result in penalties if no show. Bad karma indeed to try to build a little time. We all know when someone trumps us in the waiting list on a flight just because they can. Whether your company allows it or not, please be considerate to others. I promise good karma will come back to you.

Aaaaand now, back to your scheduled programming...

@Turbine, all in all, what do you have to move? We talked a bit ago, I'm still interested

I have 500+hrs in King Air 90/200, 1200+ in Caravans so if you have any specific need there, I'm happy to help out. I'll PM you a resume top hold on to just in case.

@Turbine

This is good experience too.. I get a couple turboprop requests..in fact..if you are an MEI I may have something for you.
Any possibility you may be looking for a Phenom 100 guy for ferry trips? 2300 in type and 8500tt?

No requests for any Phenom's yet..you never know though!

Corporate and transport jet typed guys all welcome..OR if you have domestic SIC time in any corporate jets as well.

For the record.. Nobody will be asked to use their flight benefits. You WILL be positive spaced everywhere.
