Ferry Pilot

I'm in the same situation as Dave, 360TT, CFII and looking for a job this summer. I've been calling flight schools and charter companies in the Bay Area with limited responses. I'm also interested in ferrying aircraft if the opportunity came up, anyone have any suggestions? My dad is retired off United, so I have non-rev benefits as someone mentioned that was a plus.

I put an ad in a pilot classified website. I got a few hits. I ferried a 152 from Camarillo, CA to Bentonville, AR. I had about 120hrs at the time.

I'm with ESF on this one. I take it you did this job for free and without any kind of insurance?

There is a book called "Air Vagabonds" about the heyday of ferrying small aircraft - it's fascinating not only from a flying perspective but also of the other amazing and perilous adventures encountered. Can't remember the author's name off hand but that's the title - check it out!
