A Federal Express plane slid off a runway during a snowy Thursday morning at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, airport officials said.

The incident happened around 8:20 a.m., authorities said.

The disabled plane blocked Runway 12 Left, one of three operational runways at MSP, officials said.

The runway will be closed until workers can move the plane, officials said.

There was no apparent damage to the plane, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities have not said if the plane was landing or departing.

StarTribune.com said:
The accident, involving a Federal Express Airbus A300, happened at about 8:20 a.m. as the plane came in for a landing on Runway 12L, said Pat Hogan, spokesman for the Metropolitan Airports Commission.

The two crew members were not injured and there was no apparent damage to the plane.

A Northwest Airlines recovery crew was helping to get the plane back on the runway, Hogan said. The cause for the accident is not immediately known.

Hogan said he hoped the plane would be removed by 10 a.m. and then the runway will have to be plowed before it can be used again.
