Fedex pilot career expo, 3 May 2017

I have from a reliable source that it was a random allotment to people that signed up.

This does not mean I
a. Had anything to do with it.
b. Support the system
c. Support the job fair system
d. Anything else other than forwarding information from a source I hold in high regards.

Okay thanks. So is there anyone else out there who thinks they have a strong app but didn't get an invite?
I think the conditions of a strong app are still a little arbitrary right now. I have 1000 121 PIC and thought I had a good chance signing up right at 6am. But no such luck this round. Everyone has 1000PIC these days anyway :)

Everyone is trying to figure out if it was assigned on a true first come, first serve basis or if they looked at everyones apps and then seeked out specific folks because it took a couple of weeks to get an invite.

I'm starting to think it was a random selection of applicants that signed up within the first few minutes. It still sounds like this event will be purely informational only and no resumes will be accepted. In the end, it probably doesn't make much of a difference if you got an invite or not, but who knows.

From the FedEx VP of Flight Ops...some info and names that might be of use:
Pilot Career Expo

I’m sure most of you are aware of the Pilot Career Expo being held in Memphis on May 3rd. A300 Fleet Captain Dolores Pavletic is leading a Team hosting the first of what will be likely be many such future events. As competition for the most highly qualified and talented Pilots intensifies in upcoming years, it’s important we join the industry in highlighting the specific attributes and qualities that make life as a FedEx Pilot so attractive. The event will feature speakers and exhibits that give a glimpse into our operation, Culture and company, and will be staffed fully by our own Pilot Ambassadors. To the many of you who answered the call and stepped up to represent FedEx at the Expo, Thank You!

I also want to welcome Cindy Sartain to the role of Manager, Pilot Hiring, Flight Operations. We’re incredibly lucky to have someone of Cindy’s caliber join the Team, tasked with replacing approximately HALF of our Crew Force in the next 10 years. Cindy takes the reigns from Manager John Ryder, who has excelled for so long in the job and so many of you recognize as the face of FedEx Pilot hiring. Please join me in congratulating Cindy on her promotion and John on his retirement.

How is it arrogant to note that the airlines want to hire the best talent, and that it is competitive between the airlines to hire that talent?
Nothing wrong with stating they want the best they can find, its a pretty common goal among airlines...Shocker...besides, of course, a couple regionals that seem to like the opposite.
