FedEx closing CGN, LAX, and ANC MD11. New system bid for all of the changes.

For a guy who says he’s not on social media, he sure does post a lot of stuff from social media.
He uses social media to troll, the social/connection aspect of it he wants no part of. He also latches onto the concept that if he says he's "not on social media" he's boomer adjacent, which is some kind of weird kink that he has, which of course we don't "shame".

I’ve clarified that point in the past, to mean stuff like FB, TikTok, etc.

I do use pilot forums and YouTube, along with WhatsApp/iMessage for family, friends, and work related chat groups.

Inside those, people do send links to FB and YouTube.

Is he cringy? Absolutely. However, I hear he's a really nice guy in person and the guys that have flown with him says he doesn't let the camera get in the way of the job. And, apparently, he DOES actually wear shirts.

So yes, we have one too. At least it's not a Larissa or Scott or Captain Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve.

And I agree with the others, you have too much free time on your hands.

It’s also possible for two people to have a different perception of a job or company. We have a person here at Brown. I feel like they do a great job of influencing people especially young ladies who want to get into Cargo flying. Do I think it’s as glamorous as what’s being shown? Not necessarily but I’m also in a different base and flying a different category so my experiences are different. Also depends on where you came from and the working conditions you’re used to, yada yada yada.

I always thought a lot depended on if the person was around in the 90's or early 2000's. It was a totally different job if you were on the 727 or DC8. I'll say when the company went public was the beginning of downward slide and then secondly when they started using the optimizer to build skeds rather than a humans. I got out in 2021 and have heard it's become worse. Could still be a great career if you understand what your getting into, like this is never gonna be Delta, and you have no problem sleeping during the day and taking cat naps during the sort.

I’ve had some great conversations with captains who are pretty jovial and not the typical B&G tiki torchers and the lately it’s been “it’s not the same UPS I started at 25-30yrs ago”. It’s something you’ll only understand if you work here so I know you will. 2976 or more so the actions right after also left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths. Change isn’t always bad but idk what this is…

I’d imagine it’s the same at FedEx in relation to “it’s not the same place anymore”.
