FEDEX and what not...

I don't see how the average line pilot can make anywhere near $500K a year, much less $700k.. I also don't see how "most guys" are making $300-$400K.."

A 15 year CA makes what? $250/hour? That's $225,000 base pay.

The variance between 1st year and 15th year CA is $40. So let's say a 30 year CA is making $290.. That's only $261,000. You'd have to be crediting 100 hours a month at 30th year widebody pay at "$290/hour" pay to make $350K a year.

Obviously, more plays into it than just straight guarantee pay, but I don't think "most" guys are making $300k a year over there. I know a 25 year widebody CA who wishes he was making $400k a year..

Entirely possible, BUT it will be at the cost of time at home. If you have a family.... Well...depends.. if you live in base and the children don't find it "weird" that dad is calling at 3PM to tell you "good night" on your birthday and show up at your sporting events stripping epaulets, it could work. There are many who make nice yearly incomes at purple and are at the events that the family remembers. It's up to you to chart the course of the family dynamic.

As Tram has mentioned, I've "seen" the end result. Even an LCA or FLEX guy can be the baseball coach, basketball coach, etc. You won't see $700K, but you won't be disappointed either. It's all about what you find important. I don't work at FDX, but it seems that if you want to work- you make money, if you don't- you get time off. Fair enough.

Sounds like a great company to me!
