Finished a one year coop with FedEx Express down in Memphis. Got to make a lot of great friends with some pretty incredible people. I was privileged to attend some historical events such as the B727 retirement, and the introduction of the B767. Also got to pay it forward volunteering with OBAP and their ACE camp, and help set up an airshow. So here's a video/photo highlight. Enjoy!

What was up with the CRJ sim?
I can't remember what the race was called but our friend had us take off from DCA RWY 1, loop around the monument, and land on 19 as fast as possible. Said he liked to do it to new hires at the end of a day. Can't remember the fastest time, maybe some pinnacle guys can chime in if they have done it..

I guess his time was 0 since he didn't finish haha.

I guess what I don't understand is why Fed Ex has a CRJ sim.

Did you happen to meet a captain named Russell Sklenka?

@fast89pony Yessir, goes by Russ and is an MD11 captain (think he was thinking of going 777 with the last bid)? If so great guy! Hung out with him on some midnight shifts, and he brought food (crew meals prepared in ANC are amazing!)

Very cool! He is my second cousin(my dads cousin, they are like brothers). He used to fly F-14's back in the day. One day back in the 80's he landed at Homestead Air Force base with his F-14 and me and my parents drove down from Boca Raton to meet him. He let me sit in the cockpit. What an experience for an 8 year old! He is one of the main reasons I dove into aviation..

Nice that's awesome! He was an awesome guy to hang around, and you could tell he was one of those guys who loved his job and sharing it with people. You can give him crap about not turning in his sleep room key though next time you see him hah!
