Favorite Airport?

What is your favorite airport to fly into?

Of the 20 airports I have flown into, my favorite is Burke Lakefront(BKL) in Cleveland with the excellent view of the downtown area and lake erie. Coming in a close second would be Chicago Midway(MDW) because of Chicago's incredible skyline.

I second MDW...it is my favorite North American Airport..nothing is sportier

London Heathrow - because it means I'm on my way to visit my folks back home. And it's a good view of downtown London too.

In the USA, my favourite would be Minneapolis Crystal (KMIC) because landing there means I've arrived back home safely after a day of flying

My favorite so far would have to be Telluride, CO (TEX). Look at some pictures and you'll know why. A close second is Kansas City Downtown (MKC). When you're on final for 1 you fly right next to all of the downtown buildings.

I've got a video of an approach and landing in Aspen also...how can I get it onto the computer?

My favorite?
Washington National!
Great view of the D.C. area while on approach, and while your touring near the Mall, you can always spot plenty of traffic.

Doug: What's it like arriving into National when your flying an '80/90? Do you always have to use reverse thrust to stop after touch-down?

the approach to final are the most interesting in the North East.

Went there on my long XC for my private (right after Providence RI where I got my avatar pic as I pulled in behind Air Force One)

You drop over a hill with a huge tower right under the final approach path for RWY 26, or you follow the valley for the appraoch on the north runway ( I think it's RWY 36 but not sure).

Believe it or not, I love going in to EWR. If you listen up and follow instructions promptly, the controllers will take excellent care of you, and they safely move an INCREDIBLE amount of traffic in and out of there all the time.

Any landing at DFW or IAH means I am, if even briefly, back in Texas where I belong and is always a good thing!

AVL, ROA, and LWB offer some of the best terrain flying in the East.

Do I have just one "favorite"? Probably not. Too many neat things about too many places, I guess ...

I'm going to have to go with BKL also. It was really cool flying in on final right next to the Browns Stadium, and getting a bunch of cool pics of downtown from the air.

Seriously, Mike? Visalia? Unless Doug is in town or one of our airplanes broke down there, I see no good reason to land at Visalia, CA.

South Lake Tahoe is one of my favorites.

Yup the north runway is 35, the "valley of death/doom approach"

I like all the California airports where you can see forest firefighting planes.

Also like airports where you can see stored/derelict aircraft.
