Favorite airplane in your logbook.

Dude, I already have one Wright 1820 to feed...it's on my Beechcraft A17FS. (Google it, you'll be glad you did).

HA!

Got you know you poser!

:D

For those who don't have time to Google this wonderful airplane:

One of the four models designed by Beechcraft in 1934. Dismantled in 1937. Unlike the eventual production model, the A17FS had a fixed gear and was powered by a 710 hp supercharged Wright SR-1820-F3...

Did any Buffalo's survive? What a POS that thing must have been. I am not sure why they sucked so bad though. When I was young I got a book called "Worlds Worst Aircraft" and the Brewster Buffalo was in it. It was a great looking plane, just sucked I guess.

I've seen various sources say there are 3 left (2 are replica's, so really 1 left), but none are in airworthy condition, as far as I know. Can't be that bad of a plane, if people managed to become aces in them.

The old Baron. We had a few close calls but she always came through. Still cruised at 190 true too....not too shabby for a '63 model. Got my MEI in it.

Gotta go with the Schwiezwer 1-26. Don't get downwind of the field, odds are you won't make it back. The seat doesn't adjust, and I can't tell that the trim does anything at all. The w&b consists of not being fat.

But my first flight in it was 2+ hours, and I loved the solitude. Closest I think one can come to piloting a paper airplane.

I've had fun in a Navion Rangemaster (demo aircraft) as well as the Commander 112/114. But of course mine is:

I always thought they were cool airplanes, they did pretty well in Finland it would seem as there were aces who fought against the Red Army. I've heard the word "target" used as it's nickname before as far as the US goes, perhaps it just wasn't maneuverable compared to the likes of the Zero.:dunno:

Oh, and I hope the Corsair you bought was one of these:

The other one has a lame propeller and an even more lame tailwheel. Everyone knows ballers only fly jets. Who needs stick and rudder?

This one, because she taught me how to fly (yeah, my cheesy first solo photo.)

And this one, because she was mine (until the annual was going to cost more than the plane was worth, and I had to let her go.)

There are two things I love about flying the 1-26. On a hot day that big round vent pointed right at your face just cant be beat. It has the best ventatliation of any glider I have flown. And the fact that you can land it and let the nose skid slide and be stopped right now.

The Fins didn't think so. For example, their top ace 75 claimed kills with 39 in the Buffalo. Crazy lol

Where is Mr. "I fly B-52's, B-1's, and own a P-51 but can't spell very well and am probably a 15 year old tugging it to the Young Miss section of the Sears Catalog"?

Probably engaged in the 7th hour of a heated argument on A.net about when Delta is going to retire its DC-9s.
