Fatigue Survey for Master's Thesis

I'm assuming you have to work at a regional? Or are you looking for a wide range, to compare the regionals to other portions of aviation?

I'm doing this for my senior thesis! Any way I can get access to the results?

I started to fill out the survey but stopped when it looked like it was only for regionals. I can't really give any perspective on that, but I could as a long-haul cargo pilot for both civilian and military.

After 24 hours on duty, you are tired as hell. Any questions?

Can I call in tired of ERAU kids posting polls like this?

That's the way to go. Discourage research that might make regionals more safe then complain that the industry needs to be reformed/safer/pilots are overworked/etc.

:sarcasm:

Not that you're specifically being hypocritical (I don't know your position on regional safety, etc) but I don't understand this attitude in general.

The issue is that this is FAR from an original topic (especially as of late), and there is probably more than enough info out there already to complete said report. There are much bigger guns working on this issue than a Riddle undergrad

Riddle UNDERgrad, huh?

Jump to Conclusions mat, take 2!

Same team.... yeah right!

And finally, the pilot conducting this poll has a seniority number at a small airline based in the Southeastern United States...

:tmyk:

I can appreciate that, but I think exposure doesn't hurt, and I'm speaking more about a general attitude I've seen.

As for jumping to conclusions as to the identity of this person, I think that just furthers the point that it's a little pessimistic around here.

I think the fact that you said Riddle undergrad when the OP clearly says this is for a masters thesis only intensifies my argument. IMO, pessimism exhibits negative externalities, and demeaning people is one of them.

Oh, Rex. Yes, I recognized Mr. Ceivable's name from That Other Place. And I don't really think he's a RiddleAce, nor do I really care that people post polls. It's hazing! Like when you drink too many Bud Lights... :D

Not really speaking to the OP there, just commenting about the previous response (the one about Riddle guys) and why it was probably made. Not sure what the same team part means however :dunno:

-1 to me for reading comprehension. Grad school or not though, the point is that the issue is being heavily addressed already by folks in positions to make a difference. Not intended as a cheap shot at the OP (or at Riddle), just being realistic. A couple of you are a wee bit too sensitive; I have absolutely no dog in this fight, and probably never will, so please don't take anything I say here personally.

Boris,

It is NOT my survey, as stated in the OP. It is being posted for someone else using my account on several pilot boards simultaneously.

I have not worked for a regional airline for over a decade nor am I an ERAU student--just helping out a fellow pilot.

Man, I can't even give people unnecessary crap correctly. Best of luck with your survey, I'd answer if I were a regional dude.

As usual, those of us flying recips at a true regional airline are left out. :D

But we're fine out here. 6-8 legs a day. We're good. It's Johnny Jetplane who watches his airplane fly itself down to minimums before clicking off the autopilot who's really fatigued. ;)
