FAR 135.293 & PRIA questions

Hello, I am seeking some guidance as to the regulations on how these particular checks need to be conducted. Is the FAA inspector required to check the identification of those he/she is "checking" on a 135.293 Oral?
Do the results of these checks stay on the PRIA? Is there anything to be signed either pass or fail to acknowledge or officialize the outcome?
Would one require an attorney for a related dispute?

Thank you for any feedback.

All the above are correct in away. Your 293/297/299 rides can all be done by the FAA and or an approved examiner. I have had it done both ways. As for ID, since you are doing it under a 135 program that has already been established by your company, but not to say that they won't ask, if this is for a new type, the you will have to hand over your old cert. And you will get a new temp one. And yes, if you fail, it is noted in your 135 training records, I do believe if you do fail you get a pink slip and you sign that. But that may only be part 91, as the failure and or deficiency would be noted in your 135 records. As for the disputing it, you have rights, but it's pretty cut and dry, you either know the stuff or you don't . Look up the pilots bill of rights, that has a ton of info one what to do. what exactly went sideways?

Thank you for this info. I have been flying SIC charter for a few years, and all annual 135.293 exams were successful & previously done internally or by written test. (company had recently lost examining authority) I felt adequately prepared given all of my experience but the FAA examiner thought much differently. First he said he would not fail me but then changed his mind. There were a few changes in the company that I was never trained on or aware of- which the company verbally agreed and acknowledged. The company did "not" allow me the option to retest although they said they would and the FAA examiner suggested this. This was not for a type so I suppose ID was not required to be checked, I never signed an 8410 or received paperwork of any kind. I was quickly forced to resign or face termination. I have had an unblemished record up until this event.

Paper work as for not completing the training is noted in your PRIA, and the resignation and or firing would be in your work history they can put firing in your PRIA if it's for pilot or duty based reasons, which this might be considered. But this place sounds like they are not a very good place to work at if this is all that happened. I would if this happened to me be getting an employment lawyer and an aviation lawyer. Might find an aviation lawyer that can do both, these issues seem to run together. I would not hessiate on this. Also, DO NOT talk about this to anyone else and or the Internet. Just professionals. Good luck.

The inspector needs to check your certificates prior to conducting the check. Part of checking certificates can include photo ID. See 61.2 (l). Chances are if the inspector doesn't know you, they will ask for ID.

Thank you, I have thought this to be true as almost all check rides I have encountered were conducted this way.

A company losing examining authority seems odd, unless the approved examiner left the company and the FAA hadn't signed off on a new one.
