Falcon 20 and Lear SIC's / Kalitta charters

Don't wanna start a thread war here, but sometimes regionals aren't for everyone, I know it's never the route I wanted to go for example... once the schedule changes, which it actually will (just had a meeting about it) I think it'll be a decent gig at Kalitta, granted it might not be for everyone, and I respect that. They're not blowing smoke anymore, change is a long arduous process that is actually happening now, which is a big change from when you left hahaha. Hope you and Brian are well!

Currently a CFI and like the sound of doing medevac, cargo, etc, but wondering about commute distance - I read earlier in this thread something about 15 min response requirement. Does this mean I would have to live within 15 min's of YIP? I currently live about 45 min drive from YIP, have family/children, moving to Ypsi area isn't an option...I'm close to YIP, but not 15 min drive close. Also, what does the "2 weeks on" look like for someone based local to YIP? 2 weeks of constantly out of town, or just 2 weeks of being on call for pop-up trips? If anyone knows about this I appreciate the info.

Yes to the crash pad: you will have to obtain one if you would not be able to arrive at the airport within 15 minutes of a call-out. Mostly you will be flying out of Ypsilanti, but occasionally once your turn comes, you will be sent out on the road for contracted air-ambo flying.

Speak with Brad, or who ever the new CP is. I was able to get a 45 minute call out which allowed me to stay at my parents house rather than waste $ on a crash pad.

I realize this was asked about 2 months ago, but I don't live online.
When I was there a 45 min commute wouldn't work; you'd need a crash pad in the area. There's one captain from Monroe, MI, which is a similar distance, and he has a crash pad for the required callout.
I'd say about 2/3rds of the time I was on the road during my 2 week rotation, whether on a contract or on ad hoc trips.

I believe they're on a 2 week on / 2 week off rotation now. I know they bumped pay, but I have no idea what they're offering now.

Is anyone on this thread currently working for Kalitta Charters? I have a Falcon 20 type and will be hanging up my 121 spurs in September. I would like talk with a current employee to see what it is like there in YIP.
