The Falcon 10X took its first flight yesterday. This was a promotional picture from that flight.

Call me crazy, is it just me or is that a singular throttle lever?

You aren't crazy. Looks like they're missing a couple. I wonder how that works in engine fire/failure scenarios?

It’s got to be all automatic now. It either forces itself to idle or hits the fire button without any human input.

Guess we’ll just get rid of the oral for the type. No need to talk about memory items or limitations.

It is, they call it Smart Throttle.

After four years of flying EASy I generally really like how Dassault does things with avionics but they are really not making me happy with this thing. The pilot seats are breathable, the idea being that one crew member can rest on the flight deck while the other monitors during cruise. 100 million dollar airplane, you can afford to have a relief pilot and a crew rest compartment.

Not that it matters for me though, #Guppylife4ever.

Yeah I don’t get it. And I’m an old guy that likes automation. Why give them a throttle at all then? Just make it push button like modern day car transmission shifters.

Four little switch lights in the center console.
Hell, you could put it on the yoke as a thumb switch.

PS if this is in the Gulfstream X you saw it here first. It was MY IDEA!

Yeah, single Power Lever
(throttle is for corroborators)

I get it....
Don't like it, but I get it.

Maybe it will be like single pedal driving in the Tesla.

Interesting read. My first thought was "what if you need differential thrust to recover from a spin". They put automatic upset recovery to fix that. There seems to be a manual mode but that's probably an emergency mode.
