Failed Tier 2 of Psych Eval

I know there were some people on JC that talked about being a controller for the railroad industry, the money seemed good and there wasnt the govt bs.

If you were to wait a year or so when the original test would have expired can you just retake it, no harm no foul?

I worked for the railroad, BNSF AS A dispatcher. The money was great, good company but it was boring as hell and I couldnt see myself doing it forever. ATC is in my blood I guess and Im glad Im with the FAA.

You might think I'm silly, but you should post a picture smiling >< Best foot forward ya know? heh

Not silly, I was actually thinking the same thing...not that it's gonna matter for his MMPI, but I tend to think people are a little more level headed when I see a picture of them smiling instead of snarling.

I also failed the teir 2 test and i just found out i won the appeal. YEEEEEEEEEEEES

Great!

Though it doesn't help your particular situation, there are some folks at CAMI that are trying to tweak the standards for the MMPI to be more in line with how actual controllers have tested. It seems most people in this profession are a little "off" in some ways and we were told that the current standards have been flagging too many people who just end up passing the retest.

To add to this:

In my own opinion, CAMI is approaching the psych testing standards the wrong way. Telling students that it's optional and that their data won't be released with ties to that person individually ruins the dataset that they're getting. Personally, when I had to go to CAMI I answered the questions honestly and did my best on the memory applications. However, there were other people there that were giving off-the-wall answers on purpose. I know that sounds somewhat immature, but after seeing the behavior of some of the people in that room the other day, I'm not sure I want them to pass their PVs. There are plenty of other people waiting who would take this much more seriously than them.

Sorry for the rant; I was just irritated that there are students at the MMAC that still act like they're in first grade.

That is rediculous. And you shouldn't be sorry for being irritated by that. This is a career of the utmost importance, in which professionalism is a prerequisite. These people need to grow up fast.
