Of course not, what do they care? Whenever they do call me to see what I'm going to do, I'll just let them know its not working out and I've decided to finish my private elsewhere. No need to explode on them or anything. I still have money on the account for the planes there, so once I earn my PPL I'll take people for rides until the account runs dry then get checked out at another local school.Chasen, has the school's owner called yet to chew you out for leaving and missing the meeting?

You might want to think about getting a refund. Lots of reasons.
Even if it's not a huge amount, you're loaning them your cash, interest free, to operate on. There's also the possibility that even though you've gotten your PPL elsewhere, they may either severely restrict your aircraft usage, or not allow you to use them at all, or demand that you get checked out all over again and eat up the account that way. Or they could just say "What money?". Things like this have happened before.
If you're certified and rated by the FAA on their aircraft and they still don't want to let you rent because of a grudge of some sort then I'd never have anything to do with that place again. Ever. Its about $900 on the account...guess I should get that back. Someone at the school told me they were worried they wouldn't let me fly there if I did my PPL in SDF. Seeing as they signed me off in their A/C and taught me how to fly, why shouldn't they offer my PPL when I keep money on the account with them? Then again, I guess I wouldn't be surprised the way things have been going.
