I don't think he was trying to "BEAT" the system.

There's nothing wrong with trying to think ahead a little bit it hopes of getting selected for one of your top choices...

Think about it though. Someone who had dreams to go to HCF or any facility in hawaii for that instance, could of potentially been passed up because he was selected.

They sent out emails asking for sure if they were interested.

If you roll the dice, accept the results. I'm just not digging it when someone wants to trade right away and they're not even there. If you werent willing to go there, then dont apply. I didnt apply to Hawaii because i wasnt willing to move, so i'm gonna leave the opportunity open for someone that is.

And on top of it, it comes off as ungrateful. All the "i dont care where i move, i wanna be ATC" blah blah blah goes down the toilet when they're hit with their less than ideal conditions.
 
calm down. if i cant get a trade ill prolly head out to hawaii. i am very greatfull to have recived an offer. just didnt think i would have to decide on it till after 4 and 5. my bad

The people who were passed up were probably passed up for a legitimate reason...

I see where you're coming from but I don't think he's trying to come off as ungrateful. He earned his spot to make it this far in the process and if he wants to attempt a facility trade then so be it.

Now, if he completely declines the offer because no one else is willing to trade (or if a trade isn't allowed/approved), then that's a different story.

Heck, if someone offered to trade me MLU for a facility in PA or MD I'd jump on it without hesitation...I don't think that's being ungrateful. But until then, I graciously accept MLU and I'll try my best to make the most of it :rawk:
 
Give the guy a break. He made the best decision he could at the time with the information he had. He just wants to see if he has a shot at getting a stateside location.

...although I'd love to take HCF myself. XD
