FAA Written question

Normally I wouldnt be asking such a question if I had access to either A: a CFI or B: my FAR/AIM, but both are about 3000 miles away so I figure I'd ask here.

I was talking to a friend of mine and they were saying that you must complete your PPL within 1 year of taking your FAA written, otherwise you must take the exam again. Is there any validity to that? If that is the case, my 1 year mark comes up this month, I'm not getting back until next month.

Thanks all, I'm good to go then . It's been a crazy 2 years, I really need to finish my PPL when I get back from the desert, all I have left is my checkride. Perceverence will pay off
