Do any of you participate in the WINGS program and/or attend the Air Safety seminars?

They're running one on Real-World Weather flying up in MD in a week or so and I'm considering attending. Just wondering if you guys have had any good experiences or see value in the programs?

I've been to a few, they were well done and useful, at least the ones I attended. Should probably go to more of them...

I admit it's been a few years since I went to one. They were always good. I should find one and go.

I think its important to keep the brain engaged in learning. More specifically, in aviation it's important not to go fly once a week or once a month, and then not think about flying (daydreaming aside) until next week or month.
Those courses and seminars are great tool for that.
@killbilly, what's the date and time? I would be up for that. Would just have to tell the wife we are going to the strip club. ;)

I go to them regularly and have for years. Even present at them once in a while. Haven't seen too many bad ones.

of course, I've got nothing to do all week, except an over night the 12th-13th...I'll double check, but thanks anyway..:(

Go to them all the time. My airport does one event a month.

Don't understand the points thing however.

I've been attending these seminars regularly for years . . . haven't been to one in which I haven't learned something new yet. Make sure you fill out the card at the entrance or bring the pre-filled postcard from ASI if you received one in the mail, that way you get credit for it on the Wings program.

I like them.

In a military flying unit, we regularly have continuation training academics and briefings, which keep us aware and engaged with topics that we don't typically train to daily.

I treat the Wings program sort of the same way as a non-employed civilian pilot. Sometimes I find the info useful, sometimes not.

I'm about a 2 hour flight to FDK. I would love to attend but my schedule cannot permit that. I work nights Monday to Friday. I think those seminars are really great. I do enjoy the webinars from ASI and PilotWorkShop, help us instrument pilots a lot, or any pilot.

In the Navy/Air Force flying clubs I used to fly, (not many out there anymore) a mandatory monthly one-hour safety meetings were required to keep you active and it's a great way to know what is going on.
