FAA Suspends Visual Separation In Class B/C for Helicopters Crossing Departures/Arrivals

No, I generally don't - there are a handful (maybe two handfuls) of worthwhile people that would be harmed.

But if the Redcoats sail into Boston Harbor or attack from Canada, or Lee invades the North in Pennsylvania, or on and on...we didn't wish them well. These people in Congress and a core of SCOTUS along with the Executive branch are doing irreparable harm to our country. As much or more than the previous invasions combined plus Mexico into Texas, sinking the Maine. I'm certainly not going to wish them well.

You can't walk it back. You want your political opponents to suffer horrible deaths, because politics. Or you only say these things because you want people to like you. So what is it? Are you a horrible person or just a lonely old man seeking positive affirmations?

First, I don't try to get anyone to like me. It just occurs as a byproduct of not being an ass h0le. You should try it someday.

Second, I did not make a partisan post. It was bipartisan in hatred and disgust.

The only positive affirmations I have cared about since I was 16 have included currency.

Ironically, you and the orange man have that in common.

One person screws up, and in the DCA case screws up very big, knee jerk changes to everyone is often the result. Although there have been at least two other similar fixed wing / rotary wing losses of separation that I know of that caused a conflict resulting in go arounds or some last minute maneuvering, so it’s not just DCA.

DCA is a mess from a fixed wing, 121 perspective. Helicopters are just some spice to add zing. Honestly, this isn't knee jerk, it's too little, too late. Every time I operate into DCA, it's like the old credit card commercials where everything is going swimmingly until someone pulls out cash. Except, the disruption (go around, RTO, simple configuration error on the runway) has a higher chance of causing a chain of events that is exponentially dangerous with each subsequent disruption.

As far as I'm concerned airlines should be prohibited from selling connecting flights in DCA, and/or it should be slot controlled to oblivion. The DC metro/Northern VA crowd can grow up and join the rest of the world and travel to a large international airport outside of town. DCA is not, and never should have been an airline hub.

You can thank congress critters on both sides of the aisle for this. They’ve angled and finagled to get around every attempt to slot limit etc DCA so that they and the leeches that hang onto them don’t have to endure the horrors of a perfectly functional public transit system. Colleen Mondor, an Anchorage-based freelance journalist who specializes in aviation (and also wrote the best Alaska aviation book I’ve ever read) has written pretty extensively about it.
