Just want to share with you guys. I attended an FAA Safety Seminar Thursday Night here at the Cessna Plant. It was a good experience and I highly recommend that all CFI's and potential CFI's attend these on a regular basis. First of all its a good way to stay on top of what the FAA is focused on at any particular time.
Second and probably of more interest and value to most of you, the networking possibilities are endless. I met a wide range of people from different segments of the industry, and I also got acquainted with some of the FSDO staff, who are the same people I will be taking a checkride with pretty soon. I think this is an advantage if they know you are showing interest in FAA safety functions, and this might get you a brownie point or two when checkride time comes along.
