FAA Proposes Rest Requirement Overhaul

I found this article in today’s ALPA news email. The FAA submitted a proposal to overhaul rest requirements including a limit on early starts; increase in rest before an early start amongst other changes. The proposal is open for public comment until May.

This would be life-changing for people stuck on ~3am reserve, and is desperately needed.

I would argue for a larger reduction in the FDP-in-672, and a consideration of pre-6am RAP callouts as breaking WOCL, but generally these changes are critically needed.

Makes me wish I'd filed ASAPs on stuff like this.
