FAA OKC

at the academy for training. place reminds me of a military base minus the base housing.

some interesting stuff stored at the facility here, like the tons of localizer, surveillance radar parts and pieces, and GCA radar parts and pieces, among other things. Hangars 8 and 9 have their flight check Beech King Air planes and what appear to be a couple of Bombardier Globals

the LearFan 2100 is interesting. 1984 model, used mostly for airframe aging tests for
composite aircraft, now on static display.

Bunch of operational radars here, from standard ASR radars to a number of Wx radars and ARSR-4 ARTCC radars.

I enjoyed my time there. I feel like 3 months was just the right amount of time to enjoy OKC and not get bored. It was better than I expected.

And it's even better now, although I'm sure the heat is brutal this time of year, and the high chance of tornadoes isn't much fun either.
