FAA Issues Fuel Contamination Warning
  • According to the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), two Air Force aircraft that refueled at Tac Air's FBO at Eppley Airfield in Omaha on November 18 were forced to make emergency landings after their departure. As a result DLA has suspended fueling of government aircraft there until further notice. A source familiar with the situation reported that a pair of Learjets also experienced difficulties after refueling there later in the month.

(But my Jet Fuels were fresh and tasty...)

I heard, from an unconfirmed source, that this was due to an additive meant for diesel fuel being added to the jet A delivery instead of Prist.
Apparently several aircraft are going to need their fuel systems completely overhauled. Not sure if this is all true, but that's what I'm hearing here at CAE. Costly process, if true.

Just dump some Marvel Mystery Oil in there, it works for everything!

From our FBO that we park at, they put type 1 into the fuel in place of pre mixed preist. Why...the overnight guy ran out and it’s the same, it gets rid of ice.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys. It never fails to amuse me that the line guys who are fueling G650s get paid, whatever it is, $15/hour, maybe?

And more often than not the washouts end up working the night shift, aka unsupervised doing some of the most important work.
