FAA ATP SEL addon to ATP MEL

braunpilot

What day is it?
So I used to know how to do this, but I'm four years out of signing people off for checkrides.

Since the updated ATP PTS in Feb I wanted to double check. Does anybody have a good descriptor for someone who already has an FAA ATP MEL and wanted to addon an ATP SEL? Or for that matter, what is easier COMM SEL or ATP SEL? Guy has <15 hours experience in SEL so very basic but what would be quickest? (Yes, he is a military aviator.)

(I apologize now if this is a redundant post/thread, but I couldn't find what I was looking for through the search.)

ATP route should be easier. Essentially an instrument check ride.

Any guidance as to what will be required for and ATP Single Engine addon though? I honestly cannot find anything.

If I may ask another question here...

I got my multi before comm and took the comm ride in a single. ASEL - INST - AMEL- COMM. So my multi has a PPL limitation, the question is do I have to do the entire multi check ride again?

What I've been able to locate in the FARS has to do with "adding the multi engine rating" to an existing comm, as opposed to removing the PPL limitation. Or is it the same thing?

You would have to take a commercial multi check ride. basically same check ride but to tighter tolerances.

If you have your CASEL, the CAMEL is an add-on to your existing Commecial cerificate. Basically the same tasks you did for your Private Multi add-on only to slightly tighter tolerances- the only ones that come to mind that are different are slow-flight and steep turns. And if you want Instrument privileges, you'll need to do an engine-out approach.

Back to the original question ... I was military multi engine and converted to civilian private SEL and ATP MEL ... upgraded to ATP SEL when the FAA inpector said the license looked too odd ... private and atp on same paper. I had to do the entire ATP all over again in the DA-40. But it only took 1.1 of flying time.

Thanks.
