FAA Announcement AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232

Waahoo, just got my AT-SAT score... 85! Considering I had NO idea what was going to be on the thing I am pretty amped right now :D .

Best of luck to everyone!

The only reciepts they will require are the ones for your lodging. That is how they know how many days to pay you for. Plus the $79.20 is in addition to the ~$9/hr normal pay you get.

i have a friend who is in OKC right now. she gets paid $10.50 per hour, plus $79.50 per day. i dont know if other people get paid 9 per hour, but she told me thats what she gets and also the other people she works with.

This seems like a silly question, but I'll still ask. So I've applied for all of the OTS announcements thus far, with AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232 being the last application I submitted (in February I think). Anywho, I received my AT-SAT score yesterday and am now waiting for the next step. My question is, do I need to apply for the latest announcement AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT2-09140? This one closes on May 2.

yeah, the girl at OKC told us to apply for it again. you wont have to take the AT-SAT test again.

Well everyone, stop checking your emails. I just got off the phone with Aviation Careers and the May hiring panels are NOT for the Feb 2008 announcement. When will we get to provide our geographic preferences? Sometime in the "next few weeks" - mid May to early June, with panels meeting in July.

Sooner,

I spoke with a gentleman from the FAA last Thursday when I was in Lisle, IL, taking my test. He told me that this week was the last week to take the test, and that the panel will get together the week of May 5th to make their decisions. Depending on what happens in OKC, he told me that applicants would be notified in a week or two after the panel, with VRA applicants receiving priority. ;)

I actually was told the same thing as Sooner. They told me this a few weeks ago but listening to some of you guys I was beginning to wonder if maybe they would throw the Feb applicants into the pool in May. But I was specifically told the May panels already have their referral lists and they only include 2007 applicants. So if you are already on a referral list then May might be your month. If you just applied in Feb or if you applied in Feb and you're no longer interested in the locations you applied for in 2007, then it looks like you will be waiting until July at the earliest, but based on my experiences thus far July may end up being late August.:banghead:

10SM,

That might be true for the 2007 applicants - they were taking the tests during this past few months as well.

The Aviation Careers office has lost all credibility as far as I'm concerned and I won't believe a word they say until something actually happens.

...Suprise...Suprise...Suprise:crazy:

Nooooooooooooo. I was so hoping for some news. Grrrrr. OK, I think I am going to ask for that promotion at work. I have been holding off, thinking I was hopefully out of here in the next couple months, but who knows. :(

Just passing along what I was told. I actually applied back in 2007 and turned down a couple of opportunites to take the AT-SAT. During that time I got a nice promotion at work and now I'm really debating if ATC is even the direction I want to go... so July just buys me more time to drag out my decision! :)

i got that geographic preference email. To bad the link ends up not letting me log in to do it lol

Seems like the email asking us for our preferences went out today :D, but nobody I know has been able to log-in after they click on the link :banghead:. Anyone having better luck?

Ditto, unable to submit my preferrences as well. I enter my email address and it tells me:

Your session has ended. In order to access the application, please use the link provided in the email you were sent.

Same here. I tried responding to the email to let them know the error message, but it bounced back. I never have any luck calling them, so I'm hoping someone else gets through to let them know the website login isn't working.

Aw. The anticipation. Ready to go!

Same problem. Reply email bounced back too, of course.

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come... :banghead:
