FAA ADD Testing is rediculous!

I went to a physcologist today about my testing for ADD that the FAA is making me do. Well I found out its 5 hours of testing that I have to pay half for and is going to cost me a fortune. The doctor said that the amount of testing was rediculous as was way too much for ADD. I also found out thats I have to see a physciatrist too. I am not happy with the FAA, I have been waiting since Feb. I feel like I'm getting shafted.

Can you fill me in about what does ADD mean?

sorry

A couple of questions.

I have AD/HD too and the FAA has requested the same testing.

Have you done it all yet?

What did they want from the psychiatrist?

Did they give you any indication of how long it will take before you get an decision?

Thanks for any info and hang in there.

I start my testing next week and they said it would take aboyt 6 hours. I haven't seen the psychiatrist yet.

I'll let you know when I go.

It probuly take 3 months

I hope by now everyone has learned something from this:

DO NOT CHECK YES IN ANY OF THE BLOCKS ON YOUR MEDICAL.

(except of course the one that says are you feeling ok today?)

I heard that having ADD is not a disqualifying factor though?

Maybe not, but let's just make sure your paying "attention" when you should be!

It's not disqualifying unless you're taking medication to treat it.

However, if you have ADD then your AME must defer your app to the FAA for further evaluation.
