FAA 141 VS 61

Hi everyone,
Again, I've been AWOL. The site looks much much better than before... especially the links on the sides. It's really great !!!

I've researched the differences between Part 61 and 141 flying (for a private pilot lic.)

I found that you can complete the training in less time than Part 61.

Is there a big difference? I have time constraints... i.e. I'm going to try to get it in about 2 months (before September when I have to back to U of M).

Any recommendations?

For all practical purposes, there are NO differences; and I've done both.

141 = stage checks and more structured
61 = no stage checks other than ones you want

The important thing is to find a good instructor #1 and a good school #2, regardless of what part it is.
