F-18 Crash Near Mt. Rainier

Modern seats are pretty damn good, for the most part. Like you see in the video, lacerations are the most common injury. Flail injuries are somewhat common too, which can be more serious in nature (broken/dislocated limbs). I’d say walking away is more common than not though. Provided the ejection was initiated within the seat envelope and the limits of physics, ie not inverted at 300’ AGL or something. From the looks of the original video, seems this guy either had pretty lucky timing or successfully timed it correctly for the brief moment the airplane was relatively upright before rolling over again.

Did he make a call to his squadron ops desk and it went to voicemail? 🤣

The F-35B is a waste of taxpayer money, and a pork-barrel boondoggle, and fraud waste and abuse.
I sometimes wonder what occupies the space used for plumbing on an F-35B on the A & C models.

More fuel? Physical plant for the crazy laser on the tbd D-model or electronic warfare racks for the E-model? Maybe the lift fan cavity is where R2-D2 rides.

It’s fuel. The internal load on the -C is the biggest, because its wings are the largest of the 3 (and hence the internal wing tanks). But A and C carry a very significantly greater amount of internal fuel. Like, the B shouldn’t even exist, level of more fuel.
