EZ Per Diem?

ZapBrannigan

If it ain’t a Boeing, I’m not going. No choice.
Anybody use EZ Per Diem? Looking for a review. How much does it save for tax time. Ease of use? Does the app help?

Thanks!

Writing off the per diem at a commuter definitely added a decent chunk to your refund. I think it added around $2500 toward my deduction yearly. However that was at $1.60 per diem. With being reimbursed more at better carriers it will be less but still worth it IMO.

EZ Perdiem and the others are a no-brain approach to calculating the per diem. You can do it manually it doesn't take much more time, just like your normal taxes gathering the information is what takes the longest time.

I used ezperdiem once several years ago to figure out how hey calculated everything and put it on the forms. Since then I do it all myself. It's pretty handy if you've never tried itemizing and getting the deductions before.

Tried it to see since it seems to be no obligation. The website looks to be ok, but the app needs some work. Won't let me update info as it says I have not set up my domiciles for the year. But I have... Dunno, maybe it needs a bit to update...

I have used PerDiem Calc the last 4 years. Its cheaper than EZPerdiem, at only $25 vs $35/$55

Last year there was a Facebook coupon of sort that had $5 off PerDiem Calc, so only $20.

I like it and will use it again next year

Are you allowed to calculate per diem for standups/high speeds/ all nighters/ CDO's ?

I've used avperdiem.com for the past few years, and have had success with it. Easy to enter information and it's web based. The output is a bit primitive, but it gives my accountant the information she needs. All in all, a good value at $5!

If you start and end in your "tax home," then, I don't believe so. I think it has to be an overnight in order for it to be non-taxable/deductible. Double check with a tax person, YMMV, yadda yadda.
