Eyesight Question

How bad can a person's astigmatism be?
I heard somewhere that astigmatism may be a factor in a medical issuance, and I was just curious about it.

You need to be correctable to 20/20 for class 1 & 2 and 20/40 for class 3 medicals. There are no other requirements regarding astigmatism.
