Good Morning Doctor!
A little background for you:
11 days ago, I began to have some soreness on my lower eyelid (inside). This soreness was getting worse and I noticed what appeared to be a "zit" or something similar right in the middle of the lid. A couple of days later, it hadn't gotten any better, so I went to the doc to get it checked out...this was 9 days ago. He prescribed a couple of things and said if it was still around in a week, he would send me to the eye doc to have it looked at.
I was prescribed: 800MG Septra x2 day/ 7 days
Acular LS Drops; 1 drop every 4 hours
Erthromycin; 1/2 inch strip every 3 hours
Hot Compress; 15 minutes 4x day
5 days later, everything seemed to be back to normal (zit looking thing was gone and no pain) and I stopped the Acular and the Erthromycin but finished the course of Septra. I had a follow up with doc the next day and he told me it was still pretty red and to continue the drops/ointment for another 5 days. Within a couple of days, the pain had returned and my eyelid is swollen something awful bad. Is there any possibilty that the drops/ointment is causing all the irritation or is it best to keep on going with the treatment?
