Expressjet keeping the 69 airplanes

I don't know if I agree with putting company FILs on a public bulliten board....yeah I'm going to have to go with "not cool" on that one.

Well, I read the deleted post and there's no super-secret "OOooh we found Elvis alive in a Decatur Baskin Robbins" information in it.

If I didn't leak a little, there wouldn't be a website.

Glad to hear your not losing the airplanes!!
As far as what I've read and heard its this.

1. You got to keep the airplanes not the flying
2. Those 69 airplanes won't be used for CAL flying so XJET must find another place for them.
3. Your not allowed to operate out of a CAL hub
4. A friend of mine said there was rumor of the new LCC with 170's or 190's which i hope is untrue.

In any case I hope ya'll come out on the up and up. Good job so far and good luck in the next step XJET

Continental is realizing now that they just gave away over 1/3 of the entire worldwide fleet of 145-XRs, this will hurt them on the flights that shoild have a 737 flying them like IAH-IAD, MSP, and SLC. Most of their Mexico fling is done iin these as well. Finding more 50-seat lift wont be a problem, finding more with the performance of the XRs will be a problem. Hopefully they do not replace all of the flying in EWR and reduce the delays in and out of there.

If I had to guess I would think that XJT will still be doing the Mexico flying with the remaining XR's and LR's in COEX colors causing little or no change in service. Regarding the longer domestic routes, perhaps CAL feels that they have too many 50 seaters and this was a good way to shed some of their feed and put more 737's on routes they should have been doing all along...i.e. IAH-IAD. Don't forget CAL still has 737's that are yet to arrive on property.

Hmm yes, XJT will "undercut" the other regionals with our top-regional contract and higher operating costs than CHQ, Mesa or SkyWest. Right.

Righto, but when CAL tried to pull the plug on ExpressJet didn't the contract say that EpxressJet could pull whatever they wanted away from CAL? Or was that just the 69 planes that they could do that with?

Under the CPA I don't think XJT can take more than 69 of the a/c operated for CO, however they could acquire other aircraft for flying outside of the CPA with CO as long as it's not through CLE, EWR, or IAH. Though I don't know why they'd want to.
