ExpressJet Hiring Dispatchers

Is ASQ still located on the airport in ATL? I have heard they moved the corporate office to somewhere else off the airport but looking at maps online still puts the office right on the airport.

Anyone have any insight on this airline? Like pay and schedule? If I would have a choice on where to go... it would be XJT in ATL.

Still in the Hangar east the AirTran Hangar. HQ did indeed move over a year ago but just across the street in the Hartsfield Centre where ALPA's offices are.

Starting Pay 15.22 ERJ, 15.38 CRJ. 4 on, 3 off. CRJ side has a 60 cent shift differential for shifts starting between 12am and 3:59am. ERJ side gets 70 cent shift differential for shifts that start between 8pm and 6am and a $75 per month license premium. Both sides get 2 weeks vacation per year to start.

All operations are at the ATech hangar and HR/Corp are across street. CRJ side only has 1 shift that gets paid shift diff. 4 on 3 off is what line holders have. Forget weekends off. Starting out you most likely get vacation relief and 3 off in a row goes out the window. Not to mention they will sched you several shifts in the same week. IE First day start at 4am. Next day start at 9am. Then 1:45pm the next. 3 years after merger still operates as 2 companies. Pilot group just voted theirs down by 87%.

You don't get to choose what relief lines you want? Like where I work they choose what days and shifts they want to work based on date of hire.

If you do get picked up by xjt. You want to work the erj side. better schedule and move up seniority faster. Crj guys been here forever. The only negative i we do not get delta benefits on erj side.
Word is we are hiring 9. 5 erj and 4crj.

CRJ side you bid a line. Lines are built so senior people get weekends off. Relief lines have days off but contract states company can change.... so they do. CRJ relief lines cover all shifts. So 1 day you could work an am shift and the next a pm shift. ERJ side is different. They have am relief and pm relief lines. Havent heard how many hiring per side, CRJ side just had one quit with 16 years experience.

Does anyone know if an applicant fresh out of dispatch school has a chance at the ExpressJet job? This position has been the one I have been waiting on since I already live and work in ATL.

It used to be that the ERJ side liked hiring with experience but the CRJ side would take people with no or less experience. This isn't exactly a hard rule but if you have no experience it may be easier to get a CRJ spot than an ERJ one. They do hire without experience so you do have a chance.

Experience doesnt play a role. Last group hired had 9. 1 was internal w no dispatch experience. 4 had no experience. Other 4 had @ 1 year up to 12+ years. 4 went ERJ and 5 went CRJ. 3 of the 4 with experience went CRJ. The 4 that went ERJ were all from ATL.

Apply everywhere....a major will not take you since it is tough competition, but you should apply at any airline with an opening. Good luck!

Feel free to message me with any questions. All I will say here is, it is a very unprofessional environment.

So jrdownunder.......again, why the hate ? Perhaps you can elaborate.....you seem to dislike your coworkers even more that management. Why is this ? An explanation please.....not just simple slander. You convince no one with that approach.

The gentleman with 16 years experience was one of the most respected people in the entire room. He resigned with honor after being a true asset (and all around good guy ) to his fellow dispatchers and the company. He joined the FAA.....and knowing him as I do, it was the next logical step for him.

Ok......Let me add some details. The reason you move up quicker on the ERJ side is that so many dispatchers have resigned.....on the ERJ side. The CRJ dispatchers have been here a long time.....meaning not nearly as much turnover. So why do ERJ people leave....if it is so much better, as you argue ? I say people stick around when they have a better deal.
