Express Jet/Eagle Checkride Busts

If thats your goal then awesome. So you interviewed and are getting a class date or are you getting an interview date?

Hello all,

I've been a lurker for sometime now, and I finally joined. I'm looking to get into the 121 world ( Currently fly 135) and I'm interested in Express Jet or Eagle; However someone said if you have any checkride failures they will not hire you? I failed my CFI inital three times five years ago.

I now have 5500 TT 3000 Multi 2000 Turbine. CSEL ATP-MEL. Will they overlook the CFI bust from 5 years ago?
my friend just interviewed last month, said that they don't look at CFI bust.

A friend of mine went to a job fair in February and talked to the recruiters. XJT said that the initial CFI didn't count because there is a high failure rate from the FAA for it. The FAA screwed him on his initial CFI by triple failing him for it (official complaints were registered about his situation). XJT at the time said that he wasn't eligible for an interview for his failures. He went to another job fair last month and got an interview with XJT. Successful interview followed and now he is in the hiring pool.

When an airline does a background check can they see what checkrides you failed and in which area you were deficient?

I recieved a call from Eagle. They are going to give me a class date.

Congrats man! I'll send you a PM with some advice.

BTW, if you haven't figured it out already you should ignore some of the bitter, cranky naysayers on the interweb. If I listened to every know-it-all that ever crossed my path in aviation I would never have acheived half the things I have. I couldn't be happier with my career choice and where I work. :)
