Express Jet code share changes

Even if you got in for a few months or a year, it would be experience; it might not be as much as you like, but it would be something-particularly if fresh out of school. In the PSA thread, one of the posters said that potential employers were curious because he hadn't done any dispatching during the year after he got his license; they were starting to hold it against him.
That's very true and something I'm considering. I'm not too concerned yet because I don't even start at IFOD until Jan 8th with a Feb graduation. I will keep my eyes peeled and apply to openings that come available.

Atlanta is nice and just down the street from your DL overlords.

I've never spent much time in ATL, but people on this board seem to either love it or hate it. I definitely wouldn't expect your experience at XJT to help you get on later at DL, though, based on their recent "internal only" hiring style. Not having much in the way of cold weather would be nice, but I think you do pay for it in the summers.

Lol. Yep. ATL summers are worse than DFW ones IMO.

I will not confirm nor deny where I live and/or work, but ATL was an adjustment for me. It took a while to get used to the change in climate and people. It has grown on me, though. I endured many a cold winter in my life.

As people know, DL is going internal again with their most recent hiring. I don't know what the future will bring, but I wouldn't be surprised if another 20-30 people are hired within the next two years or so to account for attrition and promotion.

I'm assuming you are talking about Delta (see the red above) and not ExpressJet.

I’d be surprised to see XJT hire Dispatchers any time in the next few years. Now if you wanted to take calls from pilots “timing out” all day everyday I’m sure you could get hired in crew sched.

Nah. I'd rather get dispatch experience elsewhere than do crew scheduling.

DFW summers are way worse. Yes ATL is more humid, but it rarely gets to it above 100. Dfw seemingly rarely gets below 100.

Each location's climate will have it's ups and downs. During the extreme heat you can always take off more layers, and extreme cold pile them on.

Unfortunately cant go nude when its too hot. And if you tend to sweat on top of wearing 1 layer, hello sweat marks. Just my personal opinion and why I prefer the cold. I can just add as many layers as i want.

I prefer the cold as well. Out of all the choices for regionals Cleveland (although honestly I’ve only ever driven through OH) probably gets the coldest but i can’t see myself living there.

At least St George cools off at night in the desert.

Don’t forget MSP/ANC/FAI. The cold there will make a man out of you, especially FAI
