Express Jet code share changes

Think there's any chance XJ HQ bolts from ATL and heads over to St. George with SkyWest?

OO does not want xjet. No chance of a merger. They are taking their profitable routes though. I still think XJT will be widdled down to 500 flights a day or sold. Time will tell.

No chance they'll ever merge the 2. Xjet is union, skywest is not. I could see them moving to IAH since they still have the training center there.

That was my next question. Will they go back to Houston. Think the chances are high ?

Only 500 flights a day isn't going to happen. Especially when the United contract is for 126 aircraft for 5 years and the American side has 20. Along with that the rest of the 700s will end up with someone whether it be United or American. So while it is a small downsizing, there will still be 160+ aircraft in the fleet.

It's less than half the size of the "super regional" days just 4 years ago. Losing a major partner is much more than small downsizing IMO. The place has been struggling for a while now.

And while it is less than half of what it was, it is still on stronger footing than it was a couple of months ago. It would have been nice to keep the flying, but I still don't see it go down to 500 flight a day or sold for the next couple of years.

Skywest would sell them in a heartbeat if someone was interested. 4 years ago flying was around 3500 flights a day. That's a significant cut back especially when the economy has been booming. Hopefully this new contract will bring some stability.

Ehh more like 2200-2300.

XJT has been going downhill for years, with the awful (for business) Pilot contracts, rotating door of upper management, and the inability to make actual business decisions (they can thank OO for that) it is testament to the hard and decent work put in by that group. The ship has been sinking and losing a Mainline Partner is no way balanced by getting the OPTION for 20 something additional 20+ year old single class jet that no one wants to fly.

Last bit of soapbox standing, at least XJT has a great reputation for the dispatchers that get their experience there. Those guys have great mainline connections and there have been few times a mainline has hired and not taken 1 or more XJTers.

UA could almost be renamed xjt north.
