Explosive Decompression

Discovery channel is running a "Myth Busters" episode on a handgun and explosive decompression.

Way cool! They shot a hole in the cabin, and no worries. They did the same thing to a window, and not a problem. And then they used some explosives and while they did get the plane to lose its window and a piece of the associated fuselage, nobody would have gotten sucked out.

Wow. I guess we can toss that argument against sky marshalls out the window!

I always tell people that there are so many holes and leaks in the cabin of any pressurized airliner, what's one more?

If you're flying around in super heavy rain, you'll get leaked on a little bit in the cockpit.
