Executive Flyers KBED

Presume you got your PPL part 141? EFA is a good school with good equipment (172 SPs for the IR).
AC is $130 hr (might be a fuel surcharge on top of that) and Instruction is $55 hr.

Don't see how 8K for 35hrs, 10 sim and 10 ground is great value for money especially if like you say money is tight.

Remember - you don't have to have 50hrs XC to start training - you just have to have the 50hrs xc complete to take the checkride. You can put 20/30 hrs solo XC on a 152 for cheap, and get the other 20 hrs XC while training for the IR.

I got my PPL part 61 and my only problem with going IR part 61 is the 50 hrs PIC XC, but I guess that I'll need those hours later anyways. More hours can't hurt (except in the wallet).

EF is a great school with a a great fleet and great instructors....but.....all of that greatness does not come cheap.

Even though you could theoretically save a few hours going with part 141 the extra cost in the AC and CFI could end up eating up the savings.
