Yes-ish. It’s very hard for them to have their experience counted by the FAA because few soldiers get CTO’s and most of their towers and approach facilities are manned primarily by DoD civvies. They’ll do tactical stuff and GCA primarily.

so if they lose comms and radar does a 7600 dump your tags and make you unidentifiable to adjacent sectors?

Hmmmm…I can use Morse Code, but it’s no good if the pilots can’t decode at least 25wpm.
