EWR radios and radar fail again

*logs onto KUSA*

I will be SO GLAD when the US adopts the "monitor Indianapolis Center on X" during frequency changes.

Another pet peeve -- using ICAO English for hours on end, hitting ANC center and then it's "anything goes" for a few hours, then back to ICAO English over Canada and then the "Minnneapolis, Airliner 123 checkin' in onboard at tree tree zerrah howyadoin' how are da rides"

I might have checked in with Toronto and a “how are ya now?”

I think we should at least look at tweaking lost comms procedures. Because they seem to be getting more common, and not from the airplane side of the house.

One of the easiest memory aids from flight training:

Damn, asking for rides is bad? Asking for a 737.

EWR giving primary, secondary and tertiary frequencies like it’s an oceanic clearance… 🤣

Hey that’s me at 5:28! That stupid mother •er didn’t want to wait so departed VFR and then called me up asking for his clearances. He wound up climbing right through some guys that ZNY were holding at 7,000 and 8,000

And what’s with Delta asking to depart vfr for 40 miles? lol

95% of 121 airlines must be IFR within 50 miles of departing VFR. Opspec C077

Most guys don’t have a clue about that one.
