Evergreen Flight Follower Position

FYI - I was offered a phone interview for this position. Pays $15.50 to start but it's for their int'l helicopter side, not the airline. I declined... The contact there is Derek (recruiter).

Yup...they had a 747 with an engine repo'd a few weeks ago...not good days for the supplemental world!

Yikes... Why are they hiring???
Probably because everyone has jumped ship; writing has been on the wall for a long while now. I bet they don't finish the class before they finally pull the plug at EIA. I will be surprised if they make it through February. AFAIK, the owner is shelling out his own money to cover payroll. A payroll that was delayed again yesterday mind you.

Over the past year Evergreen has sold off a lot of things including the Air Center @ KMZJ, their 747 fire fighter aircraft, and parked all of the other -200s. According to the APC topic, the helicopter operation is being sold off this month.

Seems so shady that they would hire and then close in a few weeks. Mind you, the recruiter said nothing to me of their troubles and since I declined the interview, I didn't bother to check into them.

Welcome to this type of flying with some of the smaller companies unfortunately.... I can tell you a story about a 135 on-demand flying job I had (think 121 supplemental with smaller airplanes if you're not familiar with the 135 world). Similar "shadiness" went on there IMO.

Hiring when they know they will be laying off is sadly common in this industry. I've seen people uproot their lives to be laid off within two weeks of their start date. Not mentioning any names. #MAXjet

That's horrible...

Working conditions at a previous job that Iw roked with him at were pretty bad. Then he got this new job and kinda had a "Screw you guys, look at the new job I got now!" and two weeks later he was unemployed.

Wouldn't touch it with a 30 foot stick. When they pay their employees, the checks have not been clearing from what I have heard.
