Evacuation flights

I look at this picture and I’m not sure many 121/135 operators have the right equipment.

They won’t need it running into Oman or Kuwait.

The idea isn’t to bring wide body passenger aircraft into Kabul which never-mind surface to air threat, imagine taxi on that ramp with low slung under hanging engines.

This is an attempt to preserve the airlift tails forward and decompress the air bridge from overusing the airplanes built with thoughts of threat systems or the ability to launch, land, not get gas, takeoff, and hit a tanker to get somewhere else.

Atlas are into Qatar

I don’t doubt once we see more and more tails apportioned to this the number of typical places will expand.

Kinda like we had to decompress Rammstein every so often and changed routing via places like Scotland or Romania. Only so much leased ramp space to go around.

What’ll get real interesting is if one of the major powers like say… Russia decides to invest some capital to just make life harder for us and suddenly we have to change gears and move operations because of back channel bribery. They did it before with MEZ U.S. vacates base in Central Asia as Russia's clout rises

More than once on my before-sunrise drives out to JYO, I've seen C-17s on final into IAD.

I've done a few already, I'll be heading back to do another before my rotation is up. IAD CBP are struggling to handle the mass arrivals. We sat at the cargo 6 ramp for 8 hours after blocking in. There were 6 aircraft waiting to get processed. IAD is the only port processing these flights as of now.

Most pickups will be out of Doha I think.
Correct

they’re probably better washed and behaved than the average spirit customer
That's debatable. I have never seen an aircraft interior so trashed in my 20 years of flying. Then again, I don't fly Spirit.

I once got a tour of an LH A380 that had just come in from Hong Kong. My freshman dorm looked better at the end of the school term.

Keep in mind, a lot of these people are still wearing the clothes they escaped in, many are walking wounded who were patched up but waiting on more care, and for many, this is their first trip on a plane and experience with western style flushing toilets.
