European Airlines?!?

Since most european airlines don't require a "higher level" education except for a high school graduate, I have decided to jump over university/college and just attend a flight school instead. Now I'm stuck with DCA and FSA. Both schools offer JAR AND FAR certificates. Which one is better? I heard many negative aspects towards DCA. Are they really that bad?

I'm also wondering if it's possible to get a degree in something while doing my pilot education... Something to ask the admissions office of the two flight schools I guess...

Be careful if you have a US High School Diploma it will not equal the European equvililant. In the UK your HS diploma (18 yrs old) equals GCSEs (16 yrs old) - you need to do some college to get it to equal your A levels (which you get when you are 18).

You need the JAR-ATPL theoretical exams to have a CPL issued. You CAN NOT take IR or ME-IR in the states, regardless of what the admission officers tell you. Airspace in Europe is a lot different than in the US, they will sell you a program with the training in the US and checkride in EU..DON'T!!

NAC in Naples Florida have a good reputation, check them out!

One guy from Paris Air also claimed in a post that they do JAR training, obviously he has no clue what he is talking about, and they dont!

You can take a PPL in the US and validate it in EU, any higher certificate you need the whole training program.

If you have in excess of 800 command hours the hour requirement is waived for CPL, IR and ME-IR.
