ERAU top in engineering?

According to ERAU's website, they have the top undergraduate aeronautical engineering program in the US. Here are their standings:

1. Embry Riddle Aeronautical U. (FL)
2. United States Air Force Acad. (CO)*
3. Embry Riddle Aeronautical U.–Prescott (AZ)
United States Naval Academy (MD)*

I have a hard time believing that they can be better than the USAFA and the USNA. Is this actually true or it another marketing device?

It might actually be true. ERAU is an awesome engineering school (or so my engineering-major buddies tell me). Its just their flight dept. that sucks. Their academics are awesome, albeit expensive. I'm not completely convinced the military academies are all they're cracked up to be, but they're free and offer steady employment after graduation. Can't say the same about ERAU.

And they also had, at the time I attended at least (1996), a top Master of Software Engineering degree. We had common courses with Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh via video hookup.

That ranking is actually from U.S. News and World Report. They're usually pretty good with their college rankings although I find it hard to believe that MIT isn't anywhere in that top 4. Though they do rank MIT #1 for schools whose highest degree is a doctorate.

That is for programs with the highest degree being a masters degree. For programs with the top level being a PhD (which is the actual top end), MIT, Georga Institute of Technology and Michigan take top honors.

From that same website:

Undergraduate engineering specialties:
Aerospace / Aeronautical / Astronomical
(At schools whose highest degree is a doctorate)

1. Massachusetts Inst. of Technology
2. Georgia Institute of Technology
3. University of Michigan–Ann Arbor

I think we have (had?!) the top electrical engineering programs in the US at the Prescott campus. In fact, our very own Copaman is an EE grad.

I went there!

I think all of our engineering programs are ranked in the top 10 by US News and World Report.

I would go to Michigan if it wasn't for the high costs of out-of-state college tuitions. I would rather stay here in FL and pay much less. Now all I need to find is the rankings of engineering programs in FL alone. Been having a difficult time finding this info.
